Ben Bass

Among his 30+ years of TV and film credits, Ben is best known as the edgy, rule-breaking detective Sam Swarek on ABC’s hit series Rookie Blue for which he received 2 Canadian Screen Award nominations for best actor. Other nominated credits include the critically acclaimed series The Eleventh Hour (best actor, Gemini nomination) created by Madmen writer/producer Semi Chellas and the mini-series Would Be Kings (best actor, Gemini nomination).

Favourite roles include guest starring and recurring parts on Law & Order, Casual, The Detail, Da Vinci’s Inquest created by Boardwalk Empire writer/producer Chris Haddock. Ben has performed leading roles at the Stratford Festival and worked with such acclaimed British and Canadian theatre directors as Robin Phillips, Christopher Newton, Derek Goldby and Richard Rose. Ben began his career as the Young Elvis in the Charlottetown Festival production of the smash hit West End musical Are You Lonesome Tonight.
